The cottage is on two levels, currently being renovated and redecorated for the 2014 season, and is surprisingly very spacious, comprising of a lounge with new double sofa bed, plus an extra fold away single bed, suitable for adult or child, authentic rustic kitchen, staircase leading up to a large bedroom with new double bed and a single bed, shower room with wc. includes use of garage and driveway. And offers very comfortable accommodation for up to 6 Guests.
The vacation cottage is self-catering and very well equipped with essential modern conveniences. Include a 4 ring gas cooker with oven and grill, all tableware, cooking utensils and cutlery, coffee maker, blender, electric kettle and toaster, fridge/freezer, hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, new bed linen, pillows, continental quilts and blankets. TV, CD and DVD player with films and music.
Les Granges is in the heart of the beautiful Limousin countryside, surrounded by luscious green fields, and only a short walk to the village of St Dizier Leyrenne and picturesque lake, with a tennis club, children's play ground and picnic areas. There is also a Medieval Church, bakery, pharmacy, restaurant and tobac bar, horse ridding and pony trekking are also available.
The nearby town of Bourganeuf is only 6 miles away, and has a Medieval Castle founded in the early 12th century by The Legendary Knights Templar. With local rumours connecting to the elusive Holy Grail. There are also a wide and varied choice of shops, cafes, bars and fine restaurants in the vibrant town, together with a market, tourist office, cinema and fascinating museum. Just beyond Bourganeuf is Parc Naturel Millevaches and the mighty lake Vassivière.

This little known region, is a magical land of rolling hills, valleys, lakes and rivers. Dotted with renaissance chateaux and medieval fairy tale castles. Creuse is a beautiful scenic department in the Limousin region, with nature and wildlife, including wolves, boar, deer and birds of prey.
The region is surrounded by mountains, the main one being Massif Central. and receives some very hot intervals from the ocean climate, giving really pleasant and rather high temperatures.
The holiday homes are in the village of St Dizier Leyrenne which has a Medieval Church in its centre, there is also a local market, post office, pharmacy, bakery, restaurant and bar.
The picturesque village lake has a very nice picnic area, children's playground and a tennis club, bicycle hire, horse ridding and pony trekking are also available locally.
A very popular attraction 6 miles away in Bourganeuf, is a remarkable Medieval Castle with the Church of St Jean and several Towers, shrouded by mystery and intrigue with rumours involving the Holy Grail. The historic stronghold was originally constructed between 1150 - 1160 AD by the legendary Knights Templar.
There is also a large Carrefour supermarket with fuel station, plus an Aldi store and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants in the vibrant town centre of Bourganeuf, along with an excellent regular market, very informative tourist office, cinema and a fascinating Museum.
Also well worth a visit is Aubusson the proud UNESCO world heritage site for traditional tapestry and carpet weaving, with many fine exhibitions and demonstrations of craftsmanship.
Nearby is the huge Lake Vassiviere and Regional Nature Park, 19,000 acres of land designated as an area of ecological interest. A haven for wildlife, as well as for outdoor pursuits and water sports. Catering for everything from sailing and paragliding to golf.
Just 30 minutes north, the evergreen forest of Les Monts de Gueret, is wolf territory, and home to Les Loups de Chabrieres, the renowned sanctuary acclaimed for species protection. Fantastic day out for observing or filming wolves within a safe and natural environment.
Also in Monts de Gueret is Le Labyrinthe Geant and reputed to be the worlds largest foliage maze, amongst other oversized games and amusements, the area also has spectacular mountain views over the beautiful Creuse landscape.
The city of Limoges is less than 1 hour away, and home to the world famous Porcelain Factories, as well as the magnificent Gothic Cathedral. Also on route between Les Granges and Limoges is Parc de Reynou an amazing zoological reserve and gardens with over 600 semi-free animals.
With an International Airport and Railway station plus availability of excellent car hire facilities, Limoges is an ideal gateway into this beautiful part of France.
