We were very fortunate to have DC 204 become available in early 2013. It is the center unit in the Dunes Chalet building at the Boca Grande Club. It's a great location right next to the pool and restaurant and only steps from the beach with stunning, unobstructed, views of the gulf and sunsets. You will find our warm and welcoming condo a great place to relax and rejuvenate. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a newer stove, dishwasher and a brand new Liebherr refrigerator in December 2017. You will also find Comcast wireless internet and cable television, a Keurig coffee maker and 2 flat screen televisions. We recently added a Sonos Speaker and an Amazon Echo Dot.

Our condo is a 1-bed/2-bathroom condo, which is over 100 square feet larger than the 1-bed/1-bath condos at the BG club. The extra room goes a long way – giving you more space to spread out in the foyer, the kitchen, the living room, and in your bedroom. Our lanai is also enclosed for even more A/C room. It is on the 2nd floor, which gives you an outstanding view of the gulf and it's easily accessible up only one flight of stairs or by using the elevator. There are 7 condos on each floor – and ours is located in the middle, which means that it is bumped out approx. 5 feet on both sides. The Dune Chalet Building is centrally located, next to the pool, Tiki Bar and the Clubhouse Restaurant. We have reduced our rates from what the BG Club normally charges for 1 bedroom, 2 bath condos.

UPDATES: We continue to update the furnishings in the condo in an effort to provide a first class experience and keep things fresh. We are very happy with these changes as well as the location of the location of the condo. We have added 2 flatscreen televisions, a new king mattress and headboard, a bedside table and dresser, TV console, new kitchen cabinets, stove, dishwasher and a new walk-in shower in the master bath. In 2015 we completely remodeled the 2nd bathroom and replaced both toilets with comfort height toilets. The dining room table now sits comfortably with a 42” glass tabletop – situated so that you can enjoy your morning breakfast overlooking the amazing gulf view and watch the magnificent sunsets while you eat dinner. The lanai is set up so that you can kick back and relax with a good book with a great view of the gulf. You will find a small library of DVDs and Paper Back Books for your enjoyment. We will be happy to provide you with additional information to make your stay more enjoyable if desired.

Why we love the Boca Grande Club
• North beaches quieter - perfect for relaxing, long walks and searching for shells.
• Lunches at the Club
• Evening cocktails at the Tiki Bar
• Fabulous Club restaurant
• Hot tub, tennis courts, exercise room, swimming pools
• Gate House – added security
• Dog friendly and people friendly
• Free WiFi

We feel the north beaches are quieter, more secluded and perfect for long morning walks looking for dolphins and manatees, or with your head looking down for sand dollars, shark teeth and other interesting shells and creatures. We love the lunches on the BG Club’s lanai overlooking the blue turquoise gulf water and listening and watching the waves roll in. You can not beat cocktails at the Tiki Bar while enjoying the evening sunset. Check to see if Manny is working. He has been the bartender since we started coming to BG in 1987 and as our niece says – the biggest decision she wants to make during her vacation is whether to ask Manny for a Strawberry Daiquiri or a Pina Colada. There is also a fabulous restaurant on the property in the Clubhouse. Upstairs is a little more casual with floor to ceiling glass facing the water. We would recommend the Tuesday night pasta dinners during the winter season or lunch on the pool deck near the Tiki Bar. Steps away is also a hot tub, 8 clay tennis courts, a fully equipped exercise room, two swimming pools and lounge chairs on the pool deck. We enjoy the lounge chairs on the beach under a supplied umbrella, where it’s hard to stay awake. One of the most peaceful environments you could ever imagine. The Boca Grande Club has a Gate House for added security and is dog friendly. Actually your dog will learn to love going by the Gate House, where they might just get a dog treat. Also free WiFi on the property.

The club’s website is wonderful with lots of photos of their amenities. There is a bike path that runs the length of the island - which we have biked, walked, roller bladed, jogged, and driven a golf cart on that path.

BOCA GRANDE: BG is actually the town on Gasparilla Island, but the island is more commonly known as Boca Grande. If you are not familiar with the quaint little town of Boca Grande - please email us with any questions you might have or Google “Boca Grande.” The Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce has a great short video on the area. It’s like stepping back in time where you’ll find the charm of “Old Florida”. There are no traffic lights, no high-rise buildings and no malls. Yes, the beaches are really that quiet and yes, we love Boca Grande and love talking about it. There are not many places like this left in Florida or anywhere else for that matter.

Finally, a little bit about us: We are from Michigan and were first introduced to Boca Grande in 1987 and have been coming here ever since. We have dreamed of owning a condo at BG and are thrilled to finally have it become a reality. It’s our place to escape - relax and not feel rushed. We want to invite you into DC 204 and hope you find it warm and welcoming. Hopefully you will come to love Boca Grande as much as we do.

We are from Michigan and were first introduced to Boca Grande in 1987 and have been coming here ever since. We have dreamed of owning a condo at BG and are thrilled to finally have it become a reality. It’s our place to escape - relax and not feel rushed. Since we are interested in our guest enjoying their visit we will send a $10 Starbucks Gift Card to people that rent our condo and send us there comments by email or by a review on VRBO after their stay.

With the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico, our warm white sand beaches and the island atmosphere, The Boca Grande Club welcomes you and your family to a little piece of paradise.

The Boca Grande Club, located on Gasparilla Island, is contained within 65 acres of beautiful tropical grounds directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Boca Grande is the name of the only village on the island. You can access the island via toll bridge.

A visit to scenic Boca Grande is like stepping back in time. Here you will find the charm of 'Old Florida,' a place where there are no traffic lights, no high-rise buildings and no malls. Our Gulf waters offer world famous fishing, adventurous kayaking and water sports. On our white sandy beaches, you can enjoy shelling or relaxing to a beautiful Gulf breeze.

The Boca Grande Club offers the best facilities and services on the island. The largest of the club's 2 heated swimming pools is a few steps away from your front door. Stroll over to the pool to grab a drink at the Tiki Bar and soak in the Hot Tub while you watch the sunset over the ocean. Enjoy the 8 clay tennis courts, pro-shop, sea kayaks, fitness center, playground, basketball court and more. Water aerobics and yoga classes are also available. The Boca Grande Club also offers one of the finest dinning facilities on the island and is located directly on the beach overlooking the ocean and pool. The club offers everything from formal dining to relaxed outdoor dining either poolside or on the verandah. The grounds of the Boca Grande Club are lovely and they include lush tropical vegetation, aromatic blossoms and an edible herb garden that you're welcome to visit to harvest some fresh rosemary, basil or other savory herb to spice up your favorite meal.

From the Boca Grande Club Web Site: Biking is an enjoyable way to see the island. A paved bike path follows the old seaboard coastline rail bed along the entire length of the island. If you don't feel up to biking, you can rent one of the Club's golf carts and tour the island on four wheels. While you're exploring, be sure to visit our village for some great shopping. Our waters teem with plentiful game fish including flounder, pompano, snook, grouper, redfish, mangrove snapper, spotted trout, sheepshead, bluefish, kingfish, mackerel, and of course, in the spring and summer, the mighty tarpon. Borrow a kayak, which are available seasonally, directly at our beach and enter the smooth blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The Boca Grande Club has 8 modern clay courts for your tennis game. Expert instruction, tournaments and exhibitions round out our tennis program each year. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, we are sure to have a program that is right for you. The Pro Shop offers a nice selection of tennis apparel, tennis balls, grips and will even fit you for a new racket. Open Monday through Saturday from 8am - 4pm during our Social Season of November - May. There are 2 outstanding Tennis Professionals on site each year during our Social Season and offer a full schedule as well as Private and Semi-Private lessons that are available by appointment.
During the Social Season, which is November through the beginning of April, we offer a regular schedule of yoga, cardio classes and water aerobics as well.

The Historic Village of Boca Grande, on the island of Gasparilla, is located at the southern tip of the Cape Haze Peninsula on Florida’s Southwest Coast midway between Sarasota and Ft. Myers. Nature has blessed this lush barrier island with seven miles of powdery white beaches stretching the entire Gulf side and surrounded it with cerulean waters—the kind one usually finds only in the Caribbean. The adjacent estuaries fed by the Myakka and Peace Rivers converge to form one of the most pristine and productive coastal ecosystems in the world.

Just north of the island is Placida where “Old Florida” flourishes. An artists’ enclave of brightly colored cracker cottages are filled with creative delights. At the south end of the island lies Boca Grande (Big Mouth) Pass, one of the deepest natural channels in Florida where tarpon congregate to feast on the abundant nourishment provided by the waters of Charlotte Harbor before spawning in the Gulf of Mexico.

At the center of the island lies the nucleus of this little community, The Historic Village of Boca Grande. Here, “Main Street” still exists with no stop lights, no billboards, no high-rises and no fast-food chains. You will find, however, unique shops and art galleries, casual and fine dining establishments serving fresh seafood just caught by the local fishing captains and prepared by any of the island’s classically trained chefs.

A favorite of photographers and movie producers, this is the secret island that presidents, dignitaries and celebrities sneak away to, because the island denizens have a low-key attitude regarding celebrity and fame. So, leave that “off island” world behind and come rejuvenate and recharge your senses where Florida is unplugged – come lose yourself in days gone by, for an hour, day, week or a lifetime.

Whether you’re looking for day trips or planning an extended stay, the Chamber's website will provide you with the best Boca Grande has to offer. We’re sure you will return again and again, and each time you’ll wonder why you ever left in the first place.

Come spend a little island time with us!

My husband and I needed a quiet getaway to unwind. We definitely found that at the Boca Grande Club and in condo D204. The red tide kept us hanging out at the beach much but not from taking beautiful bike rides across the island and relaxing in the pool. We'll definitely be back. Kim and Paul

My husband and I just came back from a one week stay in this stunning condo. The view was simply amazing. We enjoyed walking the beach every day and we were always surprised at how quiet it was. We ate in town at Sisters and also South Beach Bar and Grille. The shops are so quaint and the ice cream is always good! Visiting the Lighthouse is interesting and a must. The Clubhouse also has a wonderful dining room which we visited twice. One night we had takeout from the dining room to enjoy in the condo while we watched the sunset. Thank you so much for sharing your very beautiful and comfortable condo. We hope to return!

Directions

It makes a lot of sense to stop at a grocery store on your way in to Boca Grande because there is a $6.00 bridge fee to get on to the island and the grocery stores on the island are much more expensive. Here are some instructions based on which way you will be coming from.

From Tampa or Sarasota – Hwy 75 South to exit 191, which is River Road, turn right. You will be on N. River then S. River for about 10 – 12 minutes. You will come to a stop light at Winchester Blvd, which only goes to the left. Go left on Winchester and follow it until it ends at Placida Rd. This should also take about 12 -14 minutes. Turn left on Placida Rd and follow it all the way to the Boca Grande Causeway where you will turn right. This should also take about 10 minutes and you will pass a Publix Grocery Store about 2 miles before the causeway. Driving on to the island is absolutely beautiful, hopefully you will be getting there before dark.

From Fort Myers, Punta Gorda or Port Charlotte – Hwy 75 North to exit 170, which is King’s Hwy. Turn left and head toward the Gulf, but just after you cross under the Expressway you will need to turn right on Veterans Blvd, so make sure you are in the right hand turn lane. Veterans Blvd will wind around by the highway and then head towards Port Charlotte. Make sure you stay on Veteran’s Blvd. It will turn into El Jobean, also Hwy 776, as you cross Tamiami Trail, also called Hwy 41. There are lots of stores at this intersection including a Best Buy, Target and everything else. You will also find a Sam’s Club about a block past Hwy 41 just past the Bacon’s Furniture Store on the left. Sorry, the only Costco is in Sarasota or Ft Myers. Continue West on El Jobean (776) approximately 8 miles and then turn left at Route 771 or Gasparilla Rd. You will find a Publix Grocery Store on the SW corner. Go almost 8 miles and you will see the causeway just after a sharp right hand bend in the road. Turn left and get your $6 ready; the view crossing the bridge is worth it.
