Great weekend here! My two best friends and I came to Lovettsville for a girls weekend/fall getaway and this house was the perfect spot. Roberta could not have been nicer -- very responsive with communication before we arrived, so welcoming and the apartment was very comfortable, with lots of space and everything we needed. (There was even a bottle of wine and chocolate for us when we arrived.) The area is beautiful and we happened to be in Lovettsville for their Oktoberfest, so the town was hopping. We also enjoyed exploring a nearby cider distillery and the town of Brunswick just across the bridge in Maryland. This house is in a great location and was a real find. Roberta was a wonderful host, with little extra touches to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area (especially during Oktoberfest!)

Roberta and Rich were wonderful hosts, they were open, friendly, seemed to be very knowledgeable about the area. Upon arrival everything was perfectly set up for us so that we could start relaxing right away. On top of that their home was quiet, warm and very comfortable. My boyfriend, myself and my dog had a wonderful time and wished we had more time to explore the area, and take advantage of all the fall activities. We can't wait to go back the next time we can sneak out of the city.

Thanks Ali.....We would love to have you back anytime. Take care

Roberta's home was the perfect place for the girls' weekend getaway my friends and I planned! The place was even better than expected..beautiful and colorful in the fall, it was a calming escape. The home was clean, very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. We had more than enough room and there were 5 of us! We were able to hike and explore Leesburg (about 20 min away) then we came back to the house to make dinner in the well equipped kitchen and girl talk with smores by the fire (the firepit was all set out for us). Roberta was friendly, gracious (she even left us wine), and always responsive in communication. We hope to come back in the future!!!

Response from Roberta:
Thanks Jenny, I hope you do come back someday. It was a pleasure to have you and your friends here . Take care. And thanks for the sweet note you left for me.

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Catoctin guest suite for a weekend getaway from the city. The home is a short ways down a nice dirt road from the main road, providing a great secluded feel. The guest suite is spacious, well-kept, and very private from the rest of the home. Roberta prepared the place beautifully for us and left some nice welcome surprises. We were able to easily drive to Harpers Ferry from here and enjoy a day hiking and wondering through the quaint historic town. The Maryland Heights hike is a must. Go for the full loop if you have the time (~3hrs).

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay! The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. All communication was easy and fast and the hosts were very accommodating. It was a great place to stay with easy access to VA wine country and hiking on the IT. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

his was an amazing Airbnb experience! My son and I were biking the C and O canal and Roberta kindly offered to pick us up at the Point of Rocks trailhead and shuttle us and our bikes to their home. Not only that, she was worried that we wouldn't have food, so she made us muffins and left eggs and juice etc for breakfast. The place is spectacular - the pictures don't do it justice - and the master bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. (Granted, a bed always feels very comfortable after biking 50 miles!) My son slept in the pull out couch and told me it was a very good pull out bed. They were available to our needs without being obtrusive and were very flexible about shuttling us back to the trailhead the next morning at eight. It was one of the best nights we had on the trail.

Hi Amy, Hope the rest of your trip was great! Just wanted to let you know that we took your advice and put in a light above the sink. Good idea! Thanks for the tip. Hope you are enjoying this beautiful spring we're having. Take care.

Roberta and Rich were great hosts and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had enjoyed our stay. They stocked the fridge with breakfast food and left out wine and chocolate for us. We got great recommendations from them on wineries to visit and hikes to take. Also, their spacious basement apartment was even nicer than the pictures. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large with a nice shower and they had even built us a fire in the outdoor fire pit. Their house is close to Creek's Edge winery and we went there on Friday night. We made the short trip to Harpers Ferry on Saturday and hiked the Maryland Heights trail. On Sunday, we had jazz brunch at Beans in the Belfry in Brunswick, MD then visited wineries and finished with dinner at Magnolia's at the Mill in nearby Purcellville. Nothing was more than a 20 to 30 minute trip and although I usually can't stand driving I had no problem because the scenery was so nice. Hillborough, Breaux and Creek's Edge were our favorite wineries and we were pleasantly surprised with Beans in the Belfry's jazz brunch. The views from the Maryland Heights trail overlooking Harpers Ferry were unique and probably the highlight of our trip. My girlfriend, dog and I definitely recommend staying here, especially if you live in DC and want to enjoy the countryside without having to travel a long distance. Great hosts made it even better.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are both so happy that you had such a nice time and that the weather was so perfect. We never even heard a peep out of Oscar. Thanks for coming out. All the best

We absolutely loved our time here. They were incredibly gracious in lending us their bikes to ride the trails around the nearby river. The fire pit was a lovely way to end the evening both nights, and they even had put food in the refrigerator to make a great breakfast! They went above and beyond with providing us local insider tips on where to go and what to do... 10/10 will be staying there again.
