Our home will comfortably sleep six to ten people. Three of the bedrooms (two of which are en-suite) are fitted with king beds while the bonus room has a pull out double mattress. In addition, there is a queen size inflatable bed in frame. All beds have premium mattresses, upgraded bedding and we've added additional memory foam toppers for extra comfort. If you prefer a firmer mattress, the toppers can be easily removed.

The home also has three and a half baths, family room with fireplace and cathedral ceilings, fully outfitted kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, dining room, loft with full bar, television, pop corn machine and washer and dryer. The downstairs bonus room is equipped with television, WII games, board games, Foosball table or a quiet place for a read.

The two sided, wrap around porch offers a swing, rocking chairs, Weber grill and picnic table. The downstairs porch offers additional seating and a Jacuzzi tub and fire pit.

The huge wrap around decks offer you the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while listening to the nearby babbling creek. There's no better place to leave the stresses of everyday life behind and relax in a gorgeous outdoor setting.

The interior of this three story log cabin offers additional privacy. Each floor consists of it's own private sleeping quarters, full bath and bonus/sitting room. Two of the bedrooms are EnSuite.
The cabin has been tastefully decorated with your comfort at the forefront of our design ideas. Our aim is to think of everything, you'll need to make our home, yours.

Location, Location, Location! Within five minutes you can be at The Maggie Valley Golf and Country Club. Within fifteen minutes you can be at The Cataloochee Ski Resort, Downtown Waynesville and The Blue Ridge Parkway. Within a half hour, depending on your destination within the city, you're in downtown Asheville.

Come to Maggie Valley, where you will find small town main streets, a thriving arts community, eclectic dining and the grandeur of the highest mountains in the east.
The home has also been equipped with a key-less entry system. No more searching for real estate offices to find and/or return a key. Of course, Wi-Fi and cable with premium channels is provided.

The reason I bought this home was I wanted something centrally located to all that western NC had to offer. I also like my privacy. This home fit the bill! I can't tell you how much we enjoy spending time on the porch swing, either catching up with friends or just reading a good book while listening to the babbling creek.
The floor plan of the home also allowed my family and my visitors to enjoy their own privacy within.
Each floor has it's own bedroom, full bath and bonus or sitting room.

Neighborhood

Engulfed within the towering boundary of 19 mountain peaks, all reaching well over 6,000 feet above sea level and cradled throughout deep green valleys and hidden away mountain coves, is Haywood County, North Carolina. This popular vacation destination and its ever expanding communities of vacation homes and year round residents has made Haywood County one of the most prestigious regions in all Western North Carolina.

Haywood County’s 19 mountain peaks are the highest number of mountain peaks over 6,000 feet in any single county east of the Rocky Mountains and there is an obvious reason for that claim to fame. Flowing throughout the interior of the county’s northern, southern and eastern regions are sections of North Carolina’s Pisgah National Forest. North Carolina’s Nantahala National Forest borders the county to the southwest, while Tennessee’s Cherokee National Forest borders Haywood County along its northern border. Also very noteworthy is Haywood County’s northwestern region, which contains a large section of the world famous Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Three National Forests and one National Park; all contained within the heartland of the Blue Ridge Mountains, all merging here in North Carolina’s Haywood County.

Haywood County from the Blue Ridge Parkway

Though some of those statistics make the county seem quite remote, lost within a land of mountains and forests, Haywood County is surprisingly a hub of towns, museums, outdoor recreation and historical sites with some of the most popular festivals and special events Western North Carolina has to offer.

Important and Helpful Information
Linger Longer Lodge
924 Creekside Drive
Maggie Valley, NC 28751
We hope you are excited for your upcoming trip! Again, I thank you for choosing my home. I wanted to touch base and give you a few tips along with resending; some of our policies to insure that you and your guests are safe, comfortable and that you don’t incur any additional expenses.
We encourage you to print out this information and keep it handy for you and your guests, during your stay.
1) Please note the address. While some GPS systems will take you to the door, others are unable to find the route. We highly recommend that you go to mapquest.com, enter the address and print out directions to avoid any unexpected problems. NOTE- Creekside Drive splits as you are heading up the mountain. You’ll want to take the road to the left.
2) We use a keyless entry system to enter the home. You’ll find the keypad on the first floor entrance door, next to the hot tub. Your code is included with this email.
3) Check in time is 4:00 p.m. Check out time is 10:00 a.m. We quite often, need to turn the home around quickly, to be prepared for the next arriving guests. Please honor these times accordingly.
4) Should you need to have incoming calls into the home, the phone number is 828-944-0372. Long distance calls are blocked from this phone.
5) The cable company is Charter Communications. Their phone number is 1-888-438-2427. The account number is 8351-20-046-0022712. From time to time they have cable outages. Often there is a prerecorded message to update you on a potential outage in the area. If you believe something else is going on, please let me know and I will also contact them.
6) Your occupancy count has been agreed to. Please note that the number of occupants will be strictly enforced and are based on what the home can safely and comfortably accommodate. Should a tenant violate this policy, the tenant will be immediately evicted and no refunds will be given.
7) We do NOT provide any paper products, such as toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex and so on. We recommend you pack some or stop at a store prior to your arrival.
8) Towels and linens are provided. There are eighteen bath towels, hand towels and face cloths along with two sets of sheets per bed. There are also six bath robes.
As much as I hate to do this, we’ve had too many damaged and missing linens. Sadly, we must now charge, $30 per damaged or missing towel, $100 for damaged or missing sheets and $50 per damaged or missing robe. These amounts and/or other amounts will be deducted immediately from the rental deposit.
I pride myself on taking very good care of my home and keeping it in tip top condition. From time to time a household appliance may malfunction or a repair may be needed. We cannot guarantee that there will not be any malfunctions. Should one occur, please contact us immediately and it will be handled as quickly and as professionally as possible. No refunds or credits will be issued due to ordinary failures or mishaps.
We also understand that accidents happen. Should something take place, on your watch, please notify us immediately so that we can replace or repair it for your convenience and for are other upcoming guests.
Please, DO NOT REARRAGE THE FURNITURE. Any costs incurred to pay staff to put things back in place must be passed along.
If upon arrival, you notice something is amiss… Please notify us immediately or we must assume it took place under your watch.
Please be aware that if you are vacationing in the winter months, the weather conditions in the mountains can change quickly and drastically. It will be the tenant’s sole responsibility to get to and from the rental home should the weather become icy or snow covered. Your travel protection policy should cover you in case of such event. Please contact the insuring company to verify cover- ages and exclusions available to you.
We also suggest, should a storm be approaching, that you aim your car facing down the driveway or park at the bottom of it, for an easier exit. There is also a salt bin, behind the wood screen, at the top of the drive, should you need it. As I am sure you know, snow and ice on the driveway and decks may make them slippery. Snow shovels are located behind the home. Also note…..that on each side of the paved driveway are a couple of feet of gravel. Keeping one tire on the gravel area may provide you with additional traction, if needed.
The county is very good about plowing and dropping salt to the home, again, we cannot guarantee the ultimate timing on storms or plows.
October 1st through May 1st, the gas pilot, in the fireplace, will be confirmed to be in working order before your arrival. If you require a service call to restart the pilot light, you will be charged a trip fee of $50.00 unless there is a malfunction of the logs.
Please DO NOT rearrange the gas logs! This can cause them to burn incorrectly and produce large amounts of carbon monoxide in the home. Also, DO NOT put any foreign objects in the gas logs, such as wood, food, paper, etc. This will also cause damage to the logs and can cause them to emit carbon monoxide inside the home. Should there be any damage to the logs, caused by any of these reasons, you could be charged a minimum repair and service fee of $100.00
Wi-Fi is available. The name of our network is “Net Gear 55”. Our password is “perfectonion273”.
The DVD player in the downstairs game room needs to be on channel 3 in order to work. You are welcome to rent movies from The On Demand System. Please note that these amounts will be deducted from your rental deposit plus a $5.00 processing fee per movie.
The washing machine is a HE (High Efficiency) machine. You MUST use a HE Detergent!!!!! Not doing so will cause your clothes to retain lots of the soap, possibly making them irritable to your skin. It will also DAMAGE THE MACHINE! Look for the HE logo (usually sky blue and white in color) on the front of the detergent bottle to make sure it is compatible with our machine.
The hot tub runs a self-cleaning cycle from time to time. If you hear it running, for about fifteen minutes, that’s what it’s doing. If it’s running longer, you may have left it on.
Please be safe…there are several children/people that SHOULD NOT use a hot tub. If you are uncertain, please contact your physician to confirm that it’s safe for you and your guests to do so.
Behind the wood screen at the top of the driveway is a generator. It will run a test cycle, once a week, for about fifteen minutes. Do not be alarmed should you hear it start. Frankly, it sounds like a truck. Should there be a loss of power; the system will automatically kick in. PLEASE BE AWARE, THIS WILL OPERATE THE ENTIRE HOME. HOWEVER, IT BURNS GAS VERY QUICKLY. IF YOU’RE RUNNING LOTS OF ELECTRICAL ITEMS, LIGHTS, TV’S, A/C, HEAT, YOU WILL QUICKLY BURN THROUGH THE AVAILABLE GAS IN THE TANK. In the event of a power outage, we highly recommend that you turn off all unnecessary electrical items. As you know, most outages are short term, but we want you to be prepared, in the unlikely event, of a long term outage, persisting. Should the gas tank empty, YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE THE DECSION TO VACATE THE PROPERTY OR TO STAY PUT WTIHOUT ANY POWER. It WILL NOT be refilled during your stay. Your travel insurance should cover your cost of relocation, as we cannot provide any refunds. Please refer to your policy.
The closest grocery store is Ingles. Return to the main road at the base of the mountain. Turn left onto Soco Rd/US-19. Continue to follow SocoRd/US-19. about 3.0 miles. Turn right onto Russ Ave/US-276. Ingle’s is about 3 miles down on the left. There is also a CVS Pharmacy across the street. If you are using your GPS, the address is 201 Barber Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786. It’s about a ten minute drive.
Should you have any emergency medical needs, call 911. However, The CVS Pharmacy has a PA on staff (please check the store for hours). They can be quite helpful for non-emergency needs and they can also write prescriptions. We’ve found them useful for many common ailments. The number is 828-452-2230.
As a reminder, all garbage must be bagged and placed into the outside receptacle. If you leave it on the deck or outside the bin, the wildlife will tear through it, causing potential harm to the animals and one heck of a mess. All pet waste must also be properly disposed of properly. As I’m sure you can understand any additional expenses will have to be passed along.
The Popcorn Machine- We use prepackaged popcorn with oil. You might find them in the store, one side has the premeasured popcorn, and the other has the oil. Microwavable popcorn will NOT work. Please note the popcorn machine DOES NOT have a timer. Most popcorn takes about a minute to pop. If you walk away, odds are it will burn, setting off the smoke detectors.
Before your departure, please make sure that all dishes, pots, pans and other kitchen ware has been cleaned properly and replaced to their original location.
Should the cleaning staff, require extra time, above and beyond their normal duties, the costs will have to be passed along.
On the top of the fireplace mantle, in the family room is an orange box. This box contains many brochures about things to do in the area. Please help yourself to these ideas.
Please stay safe and use your common sense. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own safety, as well as your guests.
Lastly, our lawyers make us do this…
1) NO mobile sleeping units (bags, cots, ECT.) are permitted in the home to provide for additional housing. As a reminder, your occupancy count has already been agreed to and these items should not be necessary.
2) In the event the owner chooses, for any reason to remove this unit from the rental program, every effort will be made to contact the renter with as much advance notice as possible. We will make similar accommodations available, or your prepaid rent/security deposit monies will be fully refunded.
3) The renter understands that Norma Rea, LLC is a rental Agency which rents for the owner. The agency nor Norma Rea is not liable to renters(s) for (a) loss or theft of any of the renters’ properties; (b) accidents, injuries or damages of any nature from any cause (including acts of God) to renters, guests, relatives or invitees; (c) weather, road, travel, skiing or other recreational activities conditions; and (d) items removed or changed in unit by owner.
We do hope you enjoy your stay as our goal is to provide you all the comforts of home. I know you will treat my home, as you do your own. We only offer these very simple guidelines to keep you safe and avoid additional expenditures. If you can think of anything that we can assist you with, by all means, let us know. We will do everything in our power to answer your requests promptly.
We also invite you to visit our web site as it has many ideas, on events and things to do. Relax.....Redefine.....Relish.....Reinvent.....Remarkable....
Wishing you a most pleasant stay….

The best VRBO home I've stayed in.

We've traveled a lot and have used VRBO extensively. I have to say, this was the nicest home that we've ever rented. Not to mention that we've paid more and have never managed to experience the quality of furnishings, decor, not to mention that the beds are so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it. We had three couples total and it's the first time we didn't have to fight over the bedrooms. All were more than perfect. The location was close to perfect. Good restaurants nearby, grocery store within 10 minutes. The Blue Ridge Parkway, The Ski Resort and downtown Waynesville were all a piece of cake to get to from this home. The photos of the home due not do it justice... We will be back as I will not consider any others after experiencing this home. This one is a winner!

Owner's Response:

I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay... You made me laugh when I read your comment about "not fighting" over the bedrooms. I too have traveled with others and we usually draw straws or offer to pay more for a specific bedroom. It's one of the reasons I bought this home. I too, did not want the internal issues within my own family, as to who got which room. Now we're all happy, too!

The Owner could not have been more gracious.

I'm always hesitant that I won't get what I paid for, as on the odd occasion, we've had some bad luck. NOT THIS TIME ! Everything about this home, far exceeded my expectations. As others have mentioned, the photos do not due it justice. It's nothing short of beautiful. The owner has thought of everything, down to the extra guest robes and blow dryers in the bedrooms and baths. We like our privacy and this home fit the bill. Secluded both inside and out. The owner made herself available to answer any questions that we had, both before and after our booking. Having said that, we never found a need to contact her, after booking, since we had everything we needed and then some. However, she made it very clear that she was available, should we have needed her. We will be back and we'll also be telling all our friends about it.. Book your dates on this one. It's a new listing and once word gets out, this place will be constantly booked.

Owner's Response:

Thank you so much for your kind words.. I know it takes time to write these reviews and your efforts are most appreciated. I'm pleased to hear that I'm doing things right and that you enjoyed your stay. As always, don't ever hesitate to contact me directly, should you ever need assistance. We look forward to you coming again next year... :) Best Regards, Norma

This property exceeded expectations on every level. The property is clean and graciously appointed. The location is an excellent launch to the many exciting things that North Carolina can provide. Clearly the owner takes pride in providing the very best as the kitchen had more gadgets than my home and great care was given to create a relaxing and extremely comfortable sleeping environment. This is a wonderful value for the money and my family looks forward to returning frequently. THANK YOU to the Rea's!

The trees around the property should be breath taking. Do keep us in mind for that family ski vacation, too! We truly look forward to having you visit again soon... Best Regards, Norma

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Linger Longer Cabin. The cabin was totally self contained with all the amenities that we needed. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and the porch was just perfect to sit in either the rocking chairs or the swing while enjoying our evening cocktails. We would definitely rent this cabin again and would recommend it highly to anyone considering renting it. The location was just perfect and the kitchen was a dream.

GORGEOUS/LOCATION/SO MUCH TO DO/ WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY JUST TO STAY AT THE HOUSE!!

If you are lucky enough to secure your dates at this beautiful home...you will book it every year!! The lay out is perfect for a family like ours, the kids took the downstairs where there is a room full of games to entertain everyone, young and old. The hot tub was used as a pool to cool off in, after a hike. We all BQ'd on the deck with ample seating inside and out, the kitchen is gourmet to say the least! The beds are super comfortable. We just booked this home again. with some close friends of ours during leaf time and may do it again during Ski Season, since the ski area is about a 15 min drive... They even have a pop corn popper in the bar area with a game room too. After dinner, take your wine out to the deck and swing on the swing...it will lull you to sleep!! Thank you Norma, for such a beautiful stay...can't wait to get back!!

Beautiful Home

We had a wonderful time staying at this home. The pictures do not do it justice! Every detail was thought out in the decorations in this home. The house rest on a quiet street hidden away beneath the trees. There is little to no noise coming from the neighboring houses. The rocking chairs, living room furniture, robes, and games made this vacation feel like home. We loved the popcorn machine too! This home is three stories, each bedroom gets it's own private floor! We feel very well rested after sleeping in the comfy beds too! Definitely will plan to stay here again the next time we go to Maggie Valley!

Perfect location, impeccable comfort.

When I think of my perfect vacation rental home (and I have been to many)...location and comfort are key. Look no further. This house is close to everything NC has to offer (within 20 minutes drive to most attractions: close to asheville, close to waterfalls, close to Waynesville, close to Blue Ridge pkw, close to apple picking farms ...but also close to restaurants, shopping, and outdoor markets) and yet once you are sitting on the porch looking at the beautiful trees that surround you, you feel as if you were hiding somewhere in a beautiful corner of this world. So when you are not running around the NC forests (or skiing nearby), this house is a perfect home away from home. The comfort is not just in the rooms and the furnishings (which unlike many homes listed in NC, are contemporary)...but in the plush robes hanging in the closets and the ultra comfy beds. I stayed here with my family, and we really appreciated everything this house has to offer: we are coming back!

Owner's Response:

My family and I are so very pleased you enjoyed your stay... And we're thrilled that you shared your ideas for some of the things to do with fellow travelers... Looking forward to having you back very soon! Best Regards, The Rea Family

Perfect Home

This home is absolutely beautiful! It's obvious they take really good care of the property. The owners are very kind and went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The beds are extremely comfortable! It was the perfect location for us. We traveled to the Biltmore one day and to Pigeon Forge another day. I would definitely recommend this home to family and friends.

Owner's Response:

Thank you for your kind words! We're very pleased to know that you enjoyed, both my home and your stay. I know how busy you are, so to take that extra time to write this, is greatly appreciated. It is so helpful to both my family and our fellow travelers. We look forward to welcoming you back, very soon. Best Regards, Norma
