The master bedroom is outfitted with a queen size custom-made rustic bed and sliding glass door featuring a tremendous bay view, and includes a master bath with large jet tub, as well as a separate shower. A massive stone fireplace sets the tone for the tastefully decorated living area, featuring a separate dining room and a complete kitchen. A spiral staircase leads up to a cozy loft with its excellent bay view. The full-length bay windows in the Great Room overlook Lake Huron, many islands and Canada in the distance. The second bedroom also has a custom-made rustic bed and lake view. The third bedroom features a bunkbed with a double on the bottom. These two bedrooms share a full bath. For those relaxing summer nights, sit on the large deck with comfortable furniture and also a propane grill. There are actually three decks facing the lake. Or enjoy the view and ambiance from the screen porch. Island Retreat is the perfect place to relax while enjoying nature's beauty, and privacy. As a bonus, we offer 200 movies to choose from, and now offer WIFI internet in the summer.

Directions

You can fly to the island in a private plane and rent a car, but most folks drive to Detour, Michigan, and drive onto the ferry that takes the eight-minute ride to the island every hour. Once off the ferry, follow M-134 6 miles to Strickland Pt. Rd., turn left. Bear left at the fork. Go about 100 yards and turn right on S. Bucht. Second driveway on the left!

Island Retreat rents by the week in the summer, Saturday to Saturday. There is a two-night minimum in the off-season. Well-behaved dogs may be allowed for a small extra fee.

Terms & Conditions

Island Retreat rents for $1600/wk in the summer, $1300/wk off-season. In off-season, it rents for $450 for two nights, plus $200 for additional nights. Slightly higher rate for 4th of July, and for Fall Fest.
