DESTINATION ACTIVITIES
From slipping your toes into the sand of a blissful beach or spotting humpback whales rising from the sea, to hiking a tropical rain forest to a 400-foot waterfall or exploring a dormant volcano’s summit, there’s no better place than the island paradise of Maui to elevate your vacation experience.
Miles of sapphire-blue Pacific waters beckon beginner and expert surfers alike, while scores of emerald-green courses entice golfers to unforgettable games. And no visit is complete without taking in the beauty and diversity of Polynesian culture as told through the music, dance and cuisine of an authentic Hawaiian luau.
HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK
Feel like you’re on top of the world with a mountain hike on Haleakala, whose name means “house of the sun.” The summit of this dormant volcano soars 10,000 feet above sea level. For an unforgettable expedition through paradise, driving the legendary Road to Hana entices you through unblemished landscapes and cascading waterfalls, with over 600 curves and 60 bridges culminating at the “Seven Sacred Pools” inside the national park.
FLIGHTS OF SIGHTS
Ascend in a helicopter to the thrill of a lifetime, soaring over dramatic landmarks like the West Maui Mountains, Haleakala Crater, Hana Rainforest and the tallest sea cliff in the world, before hovering over cascading waterfalls, sun-swept deserts, dormant volcanoes, ancient ruins and historic towns. Or take to the open air on a high-speed zip-line adventure, flying freely over the lush Hawaiian landscapes.
OLD LAHAINA TOWN
Hop on the resort’s complimentary shuttle, then amble through this charming harbor town and its many historical sites amid newer blooms of shopping centers, restaurants and retail stores. From the lighthouse watching over Lahaina Harbor to the 130-year-old Banyon Tree shading almost two-thirds of an acre, the possibilities in this former capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii are endless.
GOLFER’S PARADISE
The perfect emerald greens for every skill level beckon, with a dozen golf courses just moments from the resort, including the Royal Ka‘anapali Course and Ka‘anapali Kai Course, built on the playground of ancient royalty. Whatever challenging round you choose to take on, your game will no doubt be invigorated by the ideal climate and breathtaking scenery surrounding you.
WHALE WATCHING
The famed channel off the coast of Lahaina is one of the best places in the world to spot humpback whales between December and April. From a charter boat, catamaran, outrigger canoe or the resort itself, you’ll view whales, dolphin and the other abundant marine life off Maui. Marvel at the majesty of humpbacks breaching or set off into the sunset on a magical stargazing cruise.
