GETTING TO CASA DE ORO
Flights arrive daily at Ixtapa / Zihuatanejo International Airport. Car rentals can be made in advance, or directly upon arrival outside the gate. For your convenience, there are four rental kiosks that offer competitive rates.
Taxi service is also available. The cost of your transport from the airport to Casa de Oro in Troncones should be confirmed at the taxi stand inside the airport to ensure the standard price.
We recommend renting your own transportation. This will give you the most freedom to explore the area and will also allow you to stop at La Comercial Mexicana, the primary grocery store in Zihuatanejo, as well as the central mercado, a traditional farmers market, before you drive to the villa.

DIRECTIONS
Thanks to a newly constructed highway, travel times have greatly decreased between the airport and Troncones – and are much easier! Highway 200 begins at the airport so you are already on the road you need to be on! Drive north through Zihuatanejo and towards Ixtapa. As you near Ixtapa, there will be a fork, allowing you to continue into Ixtapa (through a sign that says “Bienvenidos a Ixtapa”) or to veer right on towards Lazaro Cardenas. Follow the right-hand lane towards Lazaro Cardenas.
Continue following signs to Lazaro Cardenas for about 22 kilometers. Watch for a large sign for Troncones to take your exit. The new exit has a special pullout-style turn lane that basically makes a U-turn so that you can drive into town and down to the beach.
Follow the road into Troncones (past a Pemex gas station). There will be many signs point the way to the beach. The road will lead you directly to the ocean. When you hit the “T” intersection at the beach, turn left and continue to the end of the road. Casa de Oro is the last house on the right before the bridge.
Troncones, Mexico,
About 20 minutes north of Ixtapa in the scenic coastal village of Troncones. Troncones, a small scenic village near the resort towns of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. Featuring two expansive air conditioned master bedroom suites. Casa de Oro is considered by many to be the beautiful beachfront vacation villa in Troncones, at the end of the beach. We had visited many other places in Mexico over the years – Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cozumel, Cancun – and the very first time we came to Troncones, we finally felt like we were home. When we first saw the beach with the shimmering golden sand and the reflection of the moonlight on the water, we could imagine ourselves and our loved ones spending all of our holidays here. Casa de Oro is where we escape to – and we are thrilled to share it with others when we are off in the “real world”!
Troncones is a small beach town with no time table, just sunrises and sunsets and plenty of hammocks to hang in.
We love to wander down to our favorite cafes for a drink, dinner – anything from authentic Mexican seafood dishes to 3 course gourmet meals! – and to catch up with friends. But we have also designed Casa de Oro to be the perfect spot to hideaway – there is plenty of room, a gourmet kitchen as well as large grill, and a gorgeous large pool where all of your cares will float away!
Troncones is a quaint village (population of about 300) on the Pacific Ocean about 20 miles north of Zihuatanejo. Thanks to a new highway, we are an easy 35 minute drive from the international airport (ZIH). The beach has 4 miles of beautiful sandy beaches with approximately 125 beachfront villas – many designed as vacation rentals. There are no large hotels, no discos, no timeshares – just relaxation, endless sun, gorgeous sunsets and an amazing sense of peace and belonging.
Our favorite thing about Troncones are the tranquil beaches… you can take a morning walk and come across only a handful people. It’s a true escape and we think Casa de Oro in Troncones is one of the best places in the world to watch a sunset, take a deep breath and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones.
