Soleil Couchant

Soleil Couchant is a very charming French Creole style cottage that blends seamlessly with its surroundings.

The villa sits amidst one of the loveliest and lushes tropical gardens on island, filled with iconic sea grapes, palms and a colorful riots of tropical blooms. The stunning garden begins the moment you arrive at the villa and greets you again as you step onto the sea side terrace. You are right on the beach; steps away from Baie aux Prunes. It is an intimate and peaceful place, perfect for a couple or good friends. Sunsets are simply spectacular especially from the large gazebo that sits between the pool and the sea.

Entering the villa through its classic arch doorway, you arrive in the great room with cool terracotta floors. Light filters in from the custom wooden French doors and windows. The décor has a Caribbean vibe. Painted surfaces, teak and rattan furniture define the dining and lounging area. The kitchen sits next to the dining area. Soft yellow and pale blue fabrics and charming art add color. Through the French doors you arrive on the spacious pool terrace with deep covered areas for shaded relaxation and open sun spaces at the ocean's edge. The zero-entry pool is quite large and feels more like a rainforest pond than a simple pool. The gardens seem to float around the edge. An outdoor dining room sits just off the great room.

The two equal sized bedrooms are large, spacious and filled with natural light. Each room is decorated in wicker and rattan draped with Provence style fabrics. The large en-suite bathrooms in marble, terracotta and wood each have a walk-in shower with garden views. The bedrooms as well as the great room are fully air conditioned.

For larger gatherings, Soleil Couchant can be rented with Day-O, the adjacent 3-bedroom sister property. Together you own a very large section of Baie aux Prunes beach!

Although you are in a private little oasis, you are well located. The fabulous food scene in Baie Nettle is a few minutes' drive. Within 5-minutes you can access the gourmet grocery store or you are a 10-minute drive to the French capital of Marigot, with its shops, restaurants, markets and galleries and in the other direction only a 10-minute drive to the International airport. Only 30 minutes away you will find Grand Case, Cul De Sac or Philipsburg for the duty-free shopping.
